Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon was arrested early Saturday morning in Raleigh, N.C. and charged with driving while impaired.
Police say that Gordon, who failed an off-season drug test and is facing a season-long ban, was pulled over by police for driving 50 MPG in a 35 MPH zone. Gordon’s blood alcohol level was .09, slightly above the legal limit in North Carolina of .08.
In May it was reported that Gordon had violated the NFL’s drug abuse policy — a violation that could result in a lengthy suspension. It’s not clear how this recent arrest will impact his suspension.
Gordon led the NFL with 1,646 receiving yards last season, his second year with the Browns. Gordon is entering his third season in Cleveland, after playing collegiately at Baylor.
