When the Texas Revolution and the North Texas Crunch met in an Indoor Football League game over the weekend history was made: Jennifer Welter made history as the first female football player to play a contact position (non-kicker) in a men’s league.
For 10 years Welter had played linebacker for the Dallas Diamonds, which played in a women’s league. Welter plays running back for the Revolution, and was put into the game on three goal-line situations.
