Meet Malik Monk, a sophomore guard at Bentonville (Ark.) High School who’s considered one of the top players in the Class of 2016.
Monk, who averaged 22 points as a freshman, has had some big moments in his short career. But probably not a better two-game stretch than he had last week in which he beat Springdale High School at the buzzer on Monday, and Fayetteville High School on Friday night— both shots on ridiculous buzzer beaters:
Bentonville trailed Springdale by one when Monk hit his double-clutch three-pointer for a 57-56 win; and Bentonville and Fayetteville were tied when Monk hit a desperation three from the corner for a 52-49 win.
Monk, the younger brother of former Arkansas Razorback wide receiver Marcus Monk, has already received interest from LSU, Indiana, Arkansas, Florida and Baylor.
