It seems like the last time we heard about Greg Oden, it was when The Onion was making the fun of the top pick of the 2007 NBA Draft about his new shoeboot.
To everyone’s surprise, Oden made his debut with the Miami Heat on Wednesday night, checking into the game against New Orleans in the second quarter. And on the first possession after he entered the game the Heat ran a play for him, and he finished with a dunk.
Oden, who has had a series of knee surgeries since entering the league, only played four minutes. But it was his first action on the court since Dec. 5, 2009.
“In December it would be four years, so four minutes, that’s enough for me,” Oden told reporters after the game. “As long as I got out there and I walked off and I’m healthy, that’s all that matters.
