After sitting out the first two weeks of the regular season, free agent safety Kerry Rhodes now has a shot to get back into the league.
The question is will Rhodes—by the end of the week—have a team?
On Tuesday Rhodes will workout for the New York Giants, who have opened the season with two straight losses after getting rocked by the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Rhodes has been a free agent since the end of last season, and there’s been speculation that he hasn’t had much interest from teams because of rumors that he’s gay.
Those rumors surfaced in April after several gossip websites ran a series of photographs of Rhodes and his former personal assistant. The 31-year old Rhodes, considered one of the top players at his position last season, waited during the off-season for offers that never materialized.
Rhodes told TMZ over the summer that he’s not gay.
