In a season filled with the stench of the Biogenesis scandal, Yasiel Puig has arrived on the baseball scene as a breath of fresh air.

From his game-saving catch from his first MLB game, to being the first Dodger since 2006 to be named NL player of the week after hitting four homers in his first five Major League games, Puig has ignited a team that was in last place in its division when he arrived.  The Dodgers now sit on top of the National League West.

Last night, the Cuban-born Puig unleashed a rifle throw (below) that’s a reminder of one of the greatest right fielders to ever play the game, Roberto Clemente.

And to think, the Dodgers, after signing Puig to  seven-year, $42 million contract last June, actually sent this guy to Double-A at the start of the season.
