Twenty years ago, in 1993, Carl Lewis — arguably the greatest track and field athletes of the 20th century — sang the national anthem at an NBA game that was a disaster.
Ten years ago, in 2003, Lewis threw out one of the worst first pitches that anyone has ever witnessed at a baseball game.
This week — 20 years after the anthem, and 10 years after that awful toss — Lewis got another chance. The Houston native threw out the first pitch of the Astros game on Tuesday night.
Yes, there’s some improvement.
And yes, he’s still terrible.
