NBA teams will pull out all the stops to try to attract a top free agent like Dwight Howard.
The Houston Rockets, who eventually signed Howard, had the mayor make a plea. Some interesting tweets from rapper Slim Thug (who promised to introduce Howard to some popular strippers) offered an exciting time in Houston.
The Los Angeles Lakers went over the top with a Twitter hashtag (#StayD12), and a phone call from Jack Nicholson.
And we’re sure the Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors each had some interesting enticements.
Besides money — which its owner, Mark Cuban, has plenty of — the Dallas Mavericks put together a video to try to get Howard:[wpvideo 7gUQqrhk]
One suggestion for the Rockets: you might want to put Slim Thug — or is it Mr. Thug — on the payroll.
