If you’ve wondered how a first-round talent could become a fourth-round pick in the NFL draft, the latest news about Aaron Hernandez just might be the answer. ESPN’s Outside the Lines reports today that Hernandez, charged with murder of a friend last month, has been linked to yet another shooting in 2007 while he was a student at the University of Florida.
That shooting, reported by ESPN’s Kelly Naqi, left two men wounded. A man in the car with the two shooting victims, Randall Cason, described the shooter is a “Hawaiian” or “Hispanic” man, about 240 pounds, with a lot of tattoos. Cason also said the man with the shooter was Reggie Nelson, who was with the Jacksonville Jaguars at the time after a career with the Florida Gators.
Hernandez, who was a freshman at Florida at the time of the shooting, was mentioned in a police report.
Here’s the ESPN report:
If you’re keeping a scorecard Hernandez—who was charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd, has been linked to:
A 2007 bar fight in Gainesville, Fla. that, apparently, Tim Tebow tried to break up.
A shooting earlier this year in Florida in which a man was shot in the face.
A double-homicide in Bristol, Conn. last year.
